Every year there are popular paint colors that are used in designer, custom and showhomes, as well as home renovations all over the country. Some years these colors tend to be unique and specific to a design or color scheme, while other years neutral colors tend to be front and center.
While there are some vibrant and very distinctive colors on the list of top colors of 2016, there are some incredibly beautiful neutral colors as well. To help to understand these colors and how they could be used, let's take a closer look at four that will work in any home style or décor.
Sherwin-Williams Alabaster SW 7008
From Sherwin-Williams, another neutral, the cream color of Alabaster (SW 7008), takes front stage. This is a very soothing color that is soft and gentle, providing an atmosphere of calmness and tranquility.
It is a wonderful color for any room and can pair with dark colors, other neutrals or brighter colors to create just the look you want. As with all of the 2016 colors it is an amazing addition to the home and will continue to be a color that is in style for years to come.
Kelly-Moore - Horizon Grey KM4858
This is a Kelly-Moore Paint with the official title of Horizon Gray KM4858. Unlike
some gray colors, this is not a dull gray, but rather a very calming, soothing and appealing neutral color. It is described as atmospheric and has a
mid-tone that looks terrific with white as well as vibrant and dark colors.
Benjamin Moore - Simply White OC–117
Looking at whites can be more than a bit overwhelming as there seems to be endless variations on a very basic color. The new Simply White OC-117 by Benjamin Moore offers a warm white color that is soft and gentle but also neutral.
One reason why Simply White is so effective is that the color itself has a very limited color change under different lighting. This means it will look the same in the natural light of the day or under artificial light at night, making it an easy color to use in any room of the home.
